Kara Magneheim

Kara Magneheim is a veterinary technician specialist who works with veterinary technicians and assistants who want to improve their skillset and knowledge. She believes that everyone should understand the ‘why’ behind what they are doing for their patients and that hands-on skills are only a small part of being a veterinary technician. Kara works for BluePearl Specialty and Emergency Center in Sarasota, Florida. She has her veterinary technician speciality in emergency and critical care and received her BAS in veterinary technology from St. Petersburg College in Florida.

This course is designed to educate veterinary professionals on the placement, use, and care of nasogastric and nasoesophageal feeding tubes. The attendee will learn steps for measurement and placement of the tube and will learn how to appropriately maintain them. In addition, indications for placement and feeding methods will be described.
