Title of talk: Not just for UTI! Urine analysis and UPC monitoring in dermal patients.

Duration of webinar: (1hr lecture with 20 min Q&A)

Urinalysis is a key component of the health assessment for small animal patients. Urine reveals not only evidence of renal injury or disrupted kidney function that cannot be evaluated by blood tests, but also provides clues for metabolic abnormalities. However, in veterinary practices, urinalysis is very often not included in the diagnostic workups or general health assessments. In this lecture, Dr. Hou will share her interesting cases and tips to utilize urine analysis as an important pillar of the minimum database. Even for patients that visited for dermal problems, urine remains a key element in diagnostic workup and disease management.

  1. Why use urinalysis as part of the dermal patient MDB?
  2. What is SediVue and how it enhanced the UA workflow?
  3. Importance of proteinuria management
  4. Case studies
