The F10 product range of veterinary disinfectant and treatment products (Health and Hygiene (Pty) Ltd, www.healthandhygiene.co.za) proudly distributed by Eurovets in the UAE are unique in various respects.  They are all based on the main active ingredients of quaternary ammonium compounds. The efficacy is however further enhanced by the use of proprietary surfactants and other non-active components, with various additional minor constituents to optimise their efficacy for use in their different applications.

In this webinar the panellists will discuss the main and divergent applications in the avian veterinary field.  F10 is non-corrosive and in view of its safety profile is ideal to use by fogging, for the control of airborne contagious infections, e.g. psittacine beak and feather disease (circovirus) and psitticosis (Chlamydia psittaci), as well as other airborne pathogens e.g. Aspergillus spp., within the veterinary, retail, boarding or home environments.  Taking this a step further, the products administered by nebulisation are licensed for the treatment of bacterial, fungal and viral infections (rhinitis, sinusitis, tracheitis, pneumonia or air-sacculitis), on occasions used alone, in other situations used in combination with traditional systemic therapy.  Dermal applications (with or without insecticide), can be used for bite, claw and other penetrating wounds together with the treatment of bacterial (e.g. superficial chronic ulcerative dermatitis, MRSA, MRSB, bumblefoot), fungal (e.g. Malassezia, dermatophytosis, Aspergillus spp. ), viral infections as well as ‘fly strike’. Gastro-intestinal topical applications are particularly useful for the treatment of oral and cloacal bacterial, viral and fungal infections.  Whilst the use of the germicidal spray within the aviary environment has proven effective in reducing the incidence of insect vector born diseases, e.g. Babesia, Haemoproteus, Leucocytozoan, Plasmodium.
