Dr. Jean-Guillaume Grand, DVM, DESV (surgery), DECVS

Jean-Guillaume is an orthopedic surgeon at Aquivet Veterinary Referral Surgical Specialists and leads Aquivet’s orthopedic service. This center, located in the Bordeaux region of France, is one of the prime centers for advanced veterinary orthopedic surgery and includes a comprehensive total hip replacement center, and a tertiary referral service for revision cases. Jean-Guillaume is a French registered specialist and Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Surgeons. He is a current member of the French small animal veterinary orthopedic association (GECOV/AFVAC) and is an ESVOT Faculty for arthroscopy courses. His major interest is orthopedic trauma, minimally invasive orthopedic surgery and arthroscopy.

This webinar will review scenarios during which arthroscopy is performed. It will focus on discussing potential complications associated with surgical failure and disappointing results for the patients and the surgeon as well. The target audience are veterinarians with previous experience in arthroscopy surgery.

By the end of the webinar, participants should be able to

  • Recognize and manage potential complications associated with arthroscopy procedures
  • Discuss key elements for avoiding complications through a well-conducted preoperative plan and a well-executed arthroscopy procedure
